پس آن انسانِ بداندیش و گمراه که در زندگی به ناراستی و سخنِ دروغ روی می‌آورد، بیش از همه، زیانِ این بدی را خود بر دوش می‌کشد. زیرا وظیفه‌نشناسی و کوتاهی در آنچه بر عهدهٔ اوست، بدنامی به بار می‌آورد؛ و گفتارِ مهارنشده و درازگویی، جز ننگ و خواری، ثمری برای او ندارد. چنین کسی، خودْ خویشتن را از جایگاهش فرو می‌کشد؛ بدنام می‌گردد و حتی از دیدنِ نیکی و کامیابیِ دیگران نیز به رنج می‌افتد. سرانجام، به سبب همان راهی که خود برگزیده و کردارهایی که خود به انجام رسانده است، سزاوارِ نکوهش می‌گردد…

Thus, the ill minded and misguided person who turns to falsehood and deceitful speech in life bears, above all, the harm of that wrongdoing himself. Neglecting one’s duties and failing in what has been entrusted to one brings a bad name; and uncontrolled, long winded speech bears no fruit but shame and humiliation. Such a person lowers himself from his own standing, falls into ill repute, and even becomes troubled by the goodness and prosperity of others. In the end, because of the path he himself has chosen and the deeds he himself has carried out, he becomes deserving of reproach.
