🇬🇭 Major cocaine seizures expose gaps in Ghana’s border security
A succession of multimillion-dollar cocaine seizures linked to Ghana has raised concerns over weaknesses in the country’s border controls, with traffickers suspected of using the country’s ports as transit points to international markets. The Africa Report said the cases have intensified scrutiny of security agencies and port oversight as authorities confront repeated interceptions tied to cocaine shipments.
The report said the seizures have fuelled fears that organised trafficking networks are exploiting Ghana’s coastline and export routes. The latest cases have also renewed attention on accountability within border and customs enforcement.
