🇨🇲🇺🇸 Trump nominates deportations negotiator as US ambassador to Cameroon

US President Donald Trump has selected Christian Jové Ehrhardt, a State Department official involved in negotiating the administration’s third-country deportation arrangements, to serve as the next US ambassador to Cameroon. The nomination was reported by The Africa Report on September 30, 2026.

Ehrhardt’s selection links a key figure in Trump’s deportation diplomacy to a senior posting in Yaoundé. Cameroon remains an important US partner in Central Africa on security and diplomatic issues.
