🇿🇦 Tenth woman’s body found in Ekurhuleni amid South Africa killing probe

Police in South Africa said a 10th woman’s body was found on Saturday morning in Ekurhuleni, east of Johannesburg, after it was discovered at a cemetery in Tembisa. Gauteng Police Commissioner Tommy Mthombeni said investigators could not rule out the possibility of a serial killer, citing similar victimology and modus operandi across the 10 deaths in Ekurhuleni and another in Soweto.

The bodies have been found in similar circumstances since July, with most recovered in Kempton Park. The killings have intensified concern over gender-based violence after ministers declared it a national disaster less than a year ago.
