I’m not in the camp of “you can’t deport them, they deserve a good life here.” Deporting illegal aliens is a normal position. Crime: yes, if you remove people who actually commit violence and traffic fentanyl, some of those numbers will fall. Housing is different. More people in cities with a housing shortage does push rents up — that’s real. Fewer people eases that a little. But it doesn’t “solve” prices. Housing is expensive because we don’t build enough, because of zoning and rates.
