Israeli Minister of Defense, Israel Katz:

The serious incident on the FlyDubai plane was an attempt at a jihadist attack, which was only thwarted thanks to the bravery of several Israeli passengers who broke into the cockpit, overpowered the terrorist, and with their own hands, restored control of the plane to another flight crew present. According to the initial information we have, the terrorist's intention was one: to crash the plane with all its passengers on board.
