The meeting Netanyahu held in the UAE brought together delegations from eleven sides: the UAE, Jordan, Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Haftar's regime in Libya, Morocco, Bahrain, the United States, and Oman.

This was no ordinary diplomatic gathering. It was a summit specifically requested by Netanyahu at a moment when his political survival is increasingly tied to the continuation of regional crisis.

With elections approaching in Tel Aviv, the stakes could not be higher. A prolonged state of emergency could provide the political cover to delay the reckoning awaiting him in court and keep his grip on power intact.

Netanyahu appears willing to gamble with an entire region to protect his throne.

Palestinian blood has already paid a devastating price. Lebanese blood has too. And now, the danger is that nero, the war criminal, clinging to power will keep setting the region on fire rather than face the consequences waiting for him.

And as for the participants at the table, many had arrived to power through coercion, regime change, or decades of alignment with imperial power; their presence is hardly surprising.

But if their peoples themselves blindly follow the same script, then truly, على الدنيا السلام, there is little left to say about the fate of the world. Maybe we, as humans, truly need to replaced on this planet.
