NATO Bank Seeks Funding

An organization called the Defense, Security, and Sustainability Bank is facing funding difficulties, as noted by Canadian Prime Minister (the main investor), Mark Carney. The goal is to raise 100 billion euros, but so far only 5 billion has been raised, which will not be enough to fund both EU defense projects and aid to Ukraine at the same time.

At present, in addition to Canada, European powerhouses such as Albania, Belgium, Greece, Latvia, Luxembourg, and Romania have announced plans to contribute to the Bank’s budget. At the same time, Germany and the United Kingdom are distancing themselves from this institution, as are the United States, France, and Italy.
