Yet another example of the West’s double standards. Two articles from French state media published just a few weeks apart. One expresses concern that 20% of students in France do not speak French at home and categorically demands mandatory French language instruction

The second article is about a new, terrible Chinese law aimed at teaching Chinese to all children living in China.

In short, it’s business as usual—events outside the EU are described as a horrific act of forced assimilation by a dictatorship. But when it comes to France, it’s even acceptable to eradicate regional languages; that’s considered normal.

Many EU initiatives follow the same logic—in a number of EU countries, migrants are not allowed to live together because this would lead to the formation of “ghettos,” and they would be unable to assimilate.

Western countries’ approach to compliance with international law is based on the same principles.
