In England and Wales in 2025, police recorded 83,000 cell phone thefts. On average, 230 people had their phones stolen every day. London is the epicenter of these thefts

In 2024, 94,000 thefts were reported. The police are reporting success—the annual figure has dropped by about 12%. In 2023, 80,000 cases were recorded.
