The number of unemployed Americans has surpassed the figures from the Great Recession and the pandemic

▪️105.8 million American adults, including students and retirees, are neither employed nor looking for work. This is more than during the 2008 crisis and the pandemic, according to the New York Post

▪️The figure reached a record high following a sharp contraction of 832,000 in the U.S. labor force in June

▪️About 5.3 million former workers—5% of those who are not working but are not considered unemployed—quit their jobs because they lost motivation or aren’t even bothering to look for work
