A “mom-for-hire” service for adult children has emerged in the U.S.

For $500–1,600 a year, parents can hire a college student to serve as a “local mom” who will look after their child in a city away from home.

She will help with everyday tasks, cook meals, clean the room, and, if necessary, keep track of the “child’s” whereabouts.
