Open borders, closed mouths

Amazing how noticing the obvious is suddenly allowed only after the damage is done. Sanctuary policy was sold as compassion, but in practice it gave political cover for parallel societies, no assimilation, no vetting, and then everyone acts shocked when that creates a security problem. The really cute part in this mess is that elites still treat borders like a moral accessory while ordinary people get the actual consequences.
