An American man made around $8 million from AI-generated music streamed by his own bots.

He uploaded more than 100,000 tracks to Spotify and operated a network of 10,000 bots that generated fake streams and royalty payments.

He was later sentenced to 18 months in prison, and the money was confiscated. Music charts may now be slightly cleaner without this AI-generated spam.
