🇪🇬⚓ Egypt Unlikely to Join Saudi Arabia’s Military Response Immediately

Egypt is unlikely to provide immediate military support to Saudi Arabia, even if its parliament approves an intervention, security expert Talha Abdulrazaq told Al Jazeera. He said Saudi Arabia would likely turn first to Pakistan and Türkiye under its defence partnerships.

Instead, Egypt could focus on Red Sea operations alongside the Saudi Navy to disrupt Houthi supply routes. Attacks on shipping have also hit Egypt’s economy, with official data showing the country lost around $7 billion in Suez Canal revenue in 2023–2024.
