🇮🇳 Elon Musk Blames ‘Certain Oligarchs’ for Starlink Delays in India

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has accused “certain oligarchs” of blocking Starlink’s launch in India to maintain what he called a “monopolistic chokehold” on the Indian market.

Musk made the remarks on X, claiming the delays were “a crime against the people of India.” Starlink has held an Indian telecom license since June 2025 but still requires security clearances and spectrum assignment before commercial operations can begin.

India’s Communications Ministry rejected Musk’s claims, saying Starlink, Eutelsat OneWeb and Jio Satellite Communications are at broadly the same regulatory stage, with security assessments underway.

Starlink’s commercial launch in India has been delayed for around four years.
