🇮🇷🇶🇦🇺🇸 Iran-US talks continue through Qatari mediators as the Hormuz dispute remains unresolved.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met Qatari mediators in New York to discuss Tehran’s proposal for reopening the Strait of Hormuz. He said Qatar would take the latest ideas to Washington, with Tehran awaiting a US response.

Iran’s seven-day proposal calls for the release of frozen Iranian funds, sanctions relief and an end to the US naval blockade, followed by the reopening of Hormuz and renewed negotiations on the nuclear issue.

Washington, however, says any agreement must address Iran’s nuclear programme, with the two sides still divided over the timing and sequence of commitments.
