Government clarifies MDR charges for fuel purchases via UPI platform

According to official PIB data, fuel transactions exceeding 2,000 INR will now incur a flat concessional charge of 5 INR. Transactions below the 2,000 INR threshold remain at 0% MDR, ensuring no additional costs for standard commuter refuelling. This policy update aims to streamline digital payment structures for UPI transactions at fuel stations.
