❗️Suspected ShinyHunters hacker detained in Jordan as FBI seeks other group members

A suspected member of the ShinyHunters hacking group was detained by Jordanian authorities this week and is cooperating with the FBI and other international law enforcement agencies, three people familiar with the matter told Reuters.

Saif al-Din Khader, whose alleged hacker alias is "Rey," was taken into custody today, according to two of the sources.

Two sources said Khader is assisting investigators in locating other alleged members of the group, while one said he has been walking authorities through his electronic devices and digital correspondence.

Reuters said it could not independently determine the circumstances of his detention or where he is being held.

The detention comes as the FBI investigates a recent cyber incident allegedly involving ShinyHunters, which claimed to have stolen data belonging to FBI employees.

The bureau has confirmed that it has worked with international partners to arrest multiple suspects but declined to comment specifically on Khader's detention.
