❗️UK police make seventh arrest over so-called RAF Fairford 'terror plot'

UK counter-terrorism police have arrested a seventh person in connection with activity near RAF Fairford, the airbase used by the US for military operations against Iran.

The 22-year-old British national was arrested in Westminster on Tuesday on suspicion of "preparation of terrorist acts" under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006, police said. Officers also searched a property in the area.

The arrest comes after US President Donald Trump said "some threats" had prompted Washington to withdraw B-1 bombers from the base.

Iran has vehemently denied involvement in the alleged plot, while UK authorities have said the investigation remains ongoing and that they are pursuing multiple lines of inquiry.

Six other men in their 20s have been arrested in connection with the investigation, including a dual British-Iranian national detained on 1 October. All six have since been released on police bail, according to Counter Terrorism Policing.
