❗️US tourist detained after filming Israeli military headquarters, allegedly making threats

Israeli police arrested a US tourist outside the Kirya complex, the central headquarters of the Israeli military in Tel Aviv, on Sunday after he allegedly filmed the site and made statements about carrying out an attack.

N12 News reported on Monday that the man attracted the attention of security personnel while photographing the area and allegedly making threats.

Officers detained the tourist and transferred him to the Lev Tel Aviv police station for questioning, after which he was reportedly referred for a psychiatric evaluation. Israeli police later confirmed that a tourist had been taken into custody, but did not identify his nationality or specify the military site involved.

The police statement also did not detail the alleged threats, describing the conduct only as "suspicious behavior" at the location.
