❗️Israeli occupation forces destroy Birzeit University's Martyrs Memorial

Israeli occupation forces demolished and seized the Martyrs Memorial monument inside Birzeit University north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank during a pre-dawn raid on Monday, Quds News Network reported.

Troops entered the campus accompanied by a military bulldozer, demolished the monument, bearing the names of students and alumni killed by the occupation over the years, and briefly detained a university security guard before releasing him after withdrawing.

According to the university, occupation forces had raided the campus about a week earlier to survey and measure the memorial before returning to demolish it.

Footage showed military vehicles deployed around one of the university's entrances while a convoy patrolled the surrounding area during the incursion.

The demolition comes amid repeated Israeli raids on Birzeit University, many carried out before dawn, targeting student activities, national symbols, and memorials.

The university says around 120 Birzeit students are currently held in Israeli prisons, as Palestinian educational institutions continue to face raids, arrests, and other military measures.
