❗️Saudi foreign minister meets US senators to discuss defense cooperation

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with members of the US Senate Armed Services Committee in Washington on Tuesday to discuss defense and security cooperation between Riyadh and Washington.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the foreign minister and Saudi Ambassador to the US Princess Reema bint Bandar discussed defense coordination, regional security efforts and the latest developments with committee Chairman Roger Wicker and Vice Chairman Jack Reed. The Saudi foreign minister also met with Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Tom Cotton.

The meetings followed talks between Faisal and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday, which covered regional security, Yemen and maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab, according to the Saudi Foreign Ministry.
