❗️Russia does not want Iran to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and expects Tehran to remain a party to the agreement, the Kremlin said on Tuesday.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was responding to remarks by Iranian officials suggesting that Tehran could leave the treaty, which obliges Iran not to develop or acquire nuclear weapons.

Russia and Iran maintain close relations under a strategic cooperation treaty between the two countries.
