Iranian sources have rejected reports that Tehran is prepared to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days if Washington reduces military pressure and lifts its blockade of Iranian ports.

The denial, as reported by Fars News Agency, directly contradicts reports from Reuters and Japan’s Kyodo News citing an unnamed senior Iranian official.

Fars said the reports were inaccurate and baseless, while noting that they were accompanied by a decline in oil prices.

The sources warned, “In such circumstances, Iranian officials must be vigilant and careful about the consequences of publishing these narratives and their impact on the oil market.”
