❗️Rubio says US will honor military commitments to Saudi Arabia as Ansarallah attacks intensify

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington will uphold its military commitments to Saudi Arabia as fighting intensifies between Riyadh and Ansarallah in Yemen.

“We have a defence agreement with Saudi Arabia. We intend to live up to our commitments on it. We will,” Rubio told Fox News, describing the situation as “a very dangerous and complicated conflict.”

The remarks come after Ansarallah launched missile and drone attacks targeting Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia has responded with airstrikes in Yemen that killed over 100 people in two days as Ansarallah advances along the Red Sea coast toward the Bab al-Mandeb Strait. The escalation has prompted Riyadh to seek additional military assistance from several allies, according to AP.
