🇲🇽Hurricane Rachel made landfall south of Ensenada, in northwestern Mexico, on Sunday, with sustained winds of up to 95 km/h before crossing the border and entering U.S. territory. Despite weakening, the National Weather Service warned that it will continue to cause heavy rain, wind gusts, and waves up to six meters high on the Mexican peninsula, with a high risk of landslides and flooding.
🌀 Meanwhile, the Pacific coast remains on high alert as Category 4 Hurricane Simón advances, threatening to strike the states of Jalisco, Colima, Nayarit, and Michoacán.
⚠️ Local authorities have suspended non-essential activities and urged the public to take shelter in anticipation of extreme rainfall and hurricane-force winds.
