🇲🇽Mexico: Hurricane Rachel Intensifies to Category 2

🚨 Mexico’s National Meteorological Service (SMN) confirmed that Rachel intensified early Thursday morning and is moving along the Mexican Pacific coast, with very heavy rains expected in Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, Nayarit, and Jalisco.

🌀 At 3:00 a.m. local time (9:00 a.m. GMT), the storm’s center was located 370 kilometers south of Cabo San Lucas, in Baja California Sur, and 430 kilometers west-southwest of Cabo Corrientes, in Jalisco.

🌧️ In the coming hours, it will bring rainfall of between 50 and 75 millimeters, as well as waves ranging from four to six meters in Baja California Sur and from three to four meters in Sinaloa, Nayarit, and Jalisco.

📌 Rachel reached hurricane strength one day after Polo made landfall twice in northwestern Mexico as a Category 2 hurricane, with winds of 175 kilometers per hour.
