🇮🇶⚡️ — Iraq’s state-owned Oil Tanker Company transported 2 million barrels of crude aboard a VLCC through the Strait of Hormuz, its first such operation in decades, according to the company.

Instead of delivering the crude at Basra, the shipment through Hormuz gives state marketer SOMO greater flexibility to seek better prices and sales opportunities.

The company also plans to acquire specialized crude tankers to expand its fleet and compete more effectively with regional shipping companies.
