Earlier this month I wrote about a patch series posted to the Linux kernel mailing list that addressed a lot of "hideous code" to make Linux kernel builds faster. A number of single-threaded bottlenecks were tracked down and fixed within the Linux kernel thanks to the assistance of AI. A second revision of those patches hit the mailing list this morning and there is hope they could be upstreamed for Linux 7.4...

Опубликован выпуск композитного менеджера miracle-wm 0.11, использующего протокол Wayland и компоненты для построения композитных менеджеров Mir. Miracle-wm поддерживает мозаичную (tiling) компоновку окон, схожую с аналогичной в проектах i3 и Sway. В качестве панели может применяться Waybar. Microsoft’s emergency Windows update fixes only multichannel USB audio

Microsoft’s emergency KB5129195 update only partly repairs the USB Audio Class 1.0 failures introduced by September’s Patch Tuesday release. Systems that previously lost audio or showed Code 10 errors may still be affected, while the new patch mainly restores eight-channel and 3D audio operation.

Всего в эту версию добавлено 13007 новых символа, включая знаки трёх письменностей:

11328 знаков малой печати (Сяочжуань).

Также добавлены:

3 новых символа валют: мальдивской руфии, дирхама ОАЭ и оманского риала.
