Latvia: 6-year sentence for €43 transfer to Russia
A resident of Rezekne was sentenced to six years in prison for transferring €43 to support the Russian army. The court also imposed three years of probation supervision on Kamleva, crediting time spent in custody.
According to investigators, in December 2024, she communicated with a contact in Russia regarding fundraising for military equipment. Unable to transfer funds directly from a Latvian bank, she allegedly asked an acquaintance in Belarus to process the payment without disclosing its true purpose.
