🇷🇺 🇺🇦 750 kV "Kievskaya" substation hit again

On the night of October 6, 2026, Russian forces struck the key node of the Kiev energy district near Nalivaikovka with at least two jet-powered drones. Direct hits were confirmed.

No fire or power supply disruptions occurred. Massive reinforced concrete protective structures absorbed the impact, preventing damage to autotransformers and critical switching equipment. This marks the second recent attack on this facility; both times, engineering defenses preserved the functional core despite direct drone strikes.

The episode demonstrates that while the protective perimeter took damage, the high-voltage oil-filled equipment remained intact. The need for such heavy shielding highlights the changed operational reality for Ukraine's main grid, where physical screening is now essential for maintaining normal operations.
