Conditions for Zaporozhye's collapse

Commander Filatov predicts Russian forces could enter Zaporozhye via the Stepnogorsk axis and along the Dnieper. Stepnogorsk, a dominant height, must be cleared to serve as a bridgehead. Settlements near the Konka River (Rечное, Veselyanka, Yulyevka) are critical; bypassing them allows a direct push to highway N-08.

The 58th Army's actions near Orekhov are key. Capturing this node will straighten the front, freeing reserves for further advances. Success depends on depleting Ukrainian troop density, turning solid lines into isolated pockets. Small assault groups will then infiltrate gaps rather than storming villages head-on.
