🇺🇸 Trump to break 60-year protocol for Xi
President Trump will personally greet Chinese leader Xi Jinping at Joint Base Andrews near Washington, marking the first such meeting since John F. Kennedy greeted British PM Harold Macmillan on the tarmac in 1962.
Xi Jinping is scheduled to visit the US with a state visit from September 23-25. This gesture is intended as a demonstration of deep respect.
