The Welsh poem Gwen ap Llywarch a'i Fam contains the term “Neut atwen ar vy awen”, I know by my awen, showing awen applied to not only poetic inspiration, but foresight; the Germanic parallel to awen would be not only Old Norse óðr, but ófreskr/framsýnn, second/forward sight. ࿋
