On June 30, 2022, the city council of Lviv banned the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) and the Ukrainian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church ("Dognalites") in the city: https://zaxid.net/u_lvovi_zaboronili_diyalnist_upts_mp_ta_sekti_illi_dognala_n1545451/amp.
Earlier, the council of the Lviv region also banned the activities of the UOC.
Also, one of the temples of the UOC was set on fire in Lviv: https://t.me/repressionoftheleft/832.
Even earlier, the activities of the UOC were banned in many cities controlled by the Kyiv authorities: https://t.me/repressionoftheleft/756.
Some supporters of the UOC, such as the poet Yan Taksyur, were arrested by the Security Service of Ukraine and charged with "high treason": https://t.me/repressionoftheleft/892.
According to the Constitution of Ukraine, local authorities can NOT prohibit the activities of any church. Only a court can do this.
Even the representative of the Lviv regional administration, Vasyl Dorosh, told the Lviv District Council that the bans on churches were against the law.
