On June 24, 2022, a court session was held at which the issue of changing the measure of restraint for the 70-year-old poet Yan Taksyur was considered.
Taksyur was arrested by the Security Service of Ukraine on March 10, 2022 and charged with "high treason".
He faces 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.
The poet's lawyer asked the court to release him from custody and place him under house arrest.
The court refused to release Yan Taksyur.
This was reported by the Telegram channel "First Cossack", where Taksyur worked before his arrest.
At the same time, the court allowed a doctor to see him, since Taksyur has an oncological disease.
