Supporting families and preserving values: OKA Agency at the World Public Assembly 👨👩👧👦
Last week, we had an important opportunity to speak about what lies at the heart of our daily work: family, values, and supporting people who choose Russia as the place to build a new life.
On Saturday, the OKA Agency participated in the Second World Public Assembly, “A New World: Values That Unite Us,” in Moscow — one of the largest international platforms for public diplomacy, bringing together more than 5,000 participants from over 150 countries.
A key moment for us was the participation of Jakob Pinneker, CEO of the OKA Agency, in the plenary session “Family as the Foundation of Our Humanity.” In his speech, he shared how this principle is reflected in the Agency’s everyday work.
We know that relocating a family means much more than moving to another country. It is about adapting to a new environment while preserving a familiar way of life, cultural identity, family bonds, and a strong foundation for the next generation. A family never relocates alone.
With the support of the OKA Agency, more than 110 people have now moved to the Nizhny Novgorod Region, with families — including large families — making up 75% of all newcomers. Many choose Russia as a place to build a family and raise their children in an environment rooted in traditional values.
Our mission is to support newcomers throughout the entire relocation journey — from documentation and administrative matters to successful integration into life in the region. We work with leading educational institutions and organize community events that help families build connections, become part of local life, and feel at home.
For us, the Assembly was an opportunity to reaffirm a simple but fundamental principle: family is the foundation of our shared humanity, and supporting families is an investment in the future!
