How do you handle stuck imports in Sonarr/Radarr without constantly checking them?
I have Sonarr, Radarr and SABnzbd running in Docker. Most of the time it works, but sometimes something finishes downloading and just sits there because Sonarr or Radarr won’t import it.
I’d rather not have to keep checking and fixing these myself. I want it to figure out whether the file can be imported, fix it if possible, or find another release if it can’t. But I also don’t want it downloading the same broken release over and over or getting stuck in a retry loop.
I’ve been using Codex to build something for this. Eventually I figured, wouldn’t it be easier to just trigger a prompt that says “something’s stuck, go figure it out”? That actually fixed a few things, but then the automation around it caused other problems. One download finished but was still marked as pending, so nothing followed up. Another time the download limit stopped it from replacing a season with individual episodes.
One funny example: an episode that looked like it was missing was already in the library. It was a combined episode file, but Sonarr only had it assigned to the first episode.
Those are fixed now, but this feels like something other people must have dealt with already.
What are you using for this? Is there something that handles it reasonably well, or does everyone just end up manually fixing these? I’m not attached to the AI approach. I just want it to work without babysitting it.
