Sharp drop of Linux = sharp rise in Windows? Anyone know what happened?

I've been tracking Linux usage for a while now. I thought Linux is finally getting its adoption but all of the sudden the month of August lost all the gains since May. Moreover, Windows bucked the trend and got a sharp uptick in adoption. This can't be organic right? Did everyone just install windows or something? Any ideas or speculations on what happened?
