Origins of the word/concept "despair" in other languages than Romance/English

Interested in other language word origins for despair (what components make up the word as translated) other than dis-espair (negation of hope)

For example, in German it would be 'Verzweiflung' (rough literal translation: between two flung/thrown) and in Swahili 'kukata tamaa' (very roughly: to cut desire). Any others that stand out from other languages in their literal form?
