British journalist Secunder Kermani, a correspondent for Channel 4 News, says Israeli authorities initially denied him entry into the country upon his arrival in Tel Aviv to cover the upcoming Israeli elections.

Kermani was briefly held at an immigration detention facility before the decision was reversed and he was permitted to enter Israel; notably, he had produced extensive reports on Israel and Palestine for the channel over the past four years.

The journalist also expressed concern regarding reports that other journalists had faced similar entry restrictions in recent weeks.
