Maariv reports that the US asked Israel to launch a unilateral attack on Iran without American involvement during contacts over the past two weeks.

According to the Israeli newspaper, a senior Israeli official described Washington's position as inconsistent, saying its stance shifted daily between preparations for a possible attack and President Donald Trump's announcement that the US would not attack Iran before the November midterm elections.
