Saint Justin Pârvu: Giving Thanks for Imprisonment

Elder Saint Justin Pârvu endured years of imprisonment under the Communist regime, yet he did not regard his suffering simply as a tragedy. He was grateful to God for the years he spent in prison, recognizing that even persecution could become a place of spiritual struggle, purification, and encounter with Christ.

His example challenges us to see suffering differently: not merely as something to escape, but as something that can be offered to God and transformed into a means of sanctification.

Pray the Akathist to Elder Saint Justin Pârvu and ask this great Romanian confessor to intercede for us, that we may remain faithful to Christ whatever trials we face.
