🌿 St. John Theristus — A Western Saint
St. John Theristus, the Harvester, is a powerful reminder that Orthodox sainthood is not foreign to the Christian West.
He lived and struggled for Christ in Southern Italy, bearing witness to the deep Orthodox Christian roots of the Western lands. His life of asceticism, prayer, humility, and spiritual warfare shows us that the West, too, has produced saints whose prayers continue to strengthen the Church.
Today, we can turn to St. John Theristus and rediscover the holiness of the Orthodox Christian West.
