Saint Paul the Apostle: From Persecutor to Preacher of Christ
Saint Paul’s life is one of the greatest examples of God’s transforming grace.
Once a persecutor of the Church, Saul of Tarsus encountered the risen Christ on the road to Damascus and became Paul — the Apostle who carried the Gospel throughout the ancient world.
Through imprisonment, persecution, hardship, and suffering, Saint Paul remained faithful to his calling: to proclaim Jesus Christ to all nations.
His words continue to guide the Church:
"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me." (Galatians 2:20)
The Orthodox Church honors Saint Paul as the Apostle to the Gentiles, a teacher of nations, and a martyr who gave everything for Christ.
