Saint Polycarp of Smyrna was a disciple of Saint John the Theologian, a bishop of the early Church, and one of the most revered martyrs of ancient Christianity. When ordered to deny Christ, he refused with unwavering faith, declaring:
“For eighty-six years I have served Him, and He has done me no wrong.”
Orthodox Reflections has published an English Akathist to Saint Polycarp — a powerful hymn honoring his courage, steadfastness, and devotion to the Apostolic Faith.
