Beloved brothers and sisters,Today we rejoice in the memory of the monastic martyrs Saints Epictetus the Presbyter and Astion his disciple — wise preacher and zealous follower of Christ, apostles of Dobrogea after the holy Apostle Andrew. In the time of Emperor Diocletian, they healed the sick, cast out demons, opened the eyes of the blind, and fearlessly confessed the Gospel. For this they endured terrible torments, yet were crowned with martyrdom and now pray unceasingly for our souls.
