⚠️ JUST IN: Europol takes down AudiA6 (dis is not a car 😭)

AudiA6 was a mixer-as-a-service that laundered over €336M between 2022 and 2025, marketed on underground forums to ransomware actors looking to cash out stolen crypto fast. Customers sent dirty funds, got clean ones back within an hour, minus a 3-10% cut. The same group also ran Dark2Web, a dark web forum connecting cybercriminals worldwide.

On June 10, two admins of Ukrainian and Russian nationality were arrested in Georgia. 25 domains seized, 30+ servers down, 80+ vehicles confiscated, Telegram accounts blocked. A third member had already been arrested in Poland in September 2025, whose seized devices led investigators to the rest.

EXPLANATION:
AudiA6 operated by opening thousands of fraudulent exchange accounts using stolen or purchased identities, many linked to Russian-speaking intermediaries embedded inside legitimate exchanges. Criminals sent stolen crypto to wallets controlled by the group; funds were routed through 6,000+ money mule accounts across multiple layers. Within roughly an hour, "cleaned" crypto came out the other end with the original trail broken. Fake company domains were used to pass KYC checks at real exchanges, keeping the whole infrastructure hidden in plain sight.

⚠️ JUST IN: Canadian teen stole $13M in crypto

Trenton Johnston, now 20, pleaded guilty Tuesday in a Miami federal court to conspiracy to commit money laundering. For months he posed as a Google employee and crypto security rep to take over victims' accounts and drain their holdings, netting $13M in Bitcoin and other assets.

He got caught during a routine traffic stop in March: found in the back of a Rolls-Royce Cullinan with amphetamines, having overstayed his US visa. His spending trail included a Lamborghini Aventador, two BMWs, jewelry, private jets, and Miami nightlife. He faces deportation back to Canada at sentencing.

⚠️ JUST IN: FBI launches Operation Riptide, a 60-day cybercrime crackdown

The FBI just announced Operation Riptide, a sustained 60-day national campaign targeting cybercriminal infrastructure, tools, communications platforms, and money flows. First action already confirmed: the takedown of FirstVPN, a dark-web-advertised anonymization service used almost exclusively by ransomware actors and credential thieves.

Americans reported over $20B in cybercrime losses last year, up 26% in a single year. This is the FBI's direct response.

🛡 EXPLOIT: One laptop took down Humanity Protocol for $36M

An employee's laptop held enough Gnosis Safe keys to hit approval thresholds on both Ethereum and BSC alone. The attacker drained 141M H on Ethereum and minted 200M H on BSC. H token crashed 89%, from $0.73 to $0.08.

ZachXBT initially flagged it as "possibly staged" citing unusual pre-hack OTC activity, but later walked it back.

EXPLANATION:
Humanity's bridges used multisig wallets, meaning multiple key approvals are required before any contract change. The whole point is to spread keys across different people and devices so no single compromise can move funds. Here, enough keys were stored on one laptop to cross the threshold on both chains. The attacker seized ProxyAdmin control, upgraded bridge contracts to malicious versions, drained the Ethereum vault in one transaction, then added an unlimited mint function on BSC and printed 200M tokens directly to their own wallet. All sold into the market immediately. Not a smart contract bug: a basic opsec failure.

⚠️ JUST IN: Chile arrests 18 in $88M crypto laundering ring tied to Tren de Aragua

Chilean police and prosecutors dismantled a two-year operation linked to the sanctioned Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. The network moved $88M through shell companies, bank accounts, and crypto remittances, funded by drug trafficking, extortion, prostitution, and kidnappings. Authorities froze 140 accounts and seized ~$300K in cash.

A key figure was Juan Carlos Pérez Asencio, a Venezuelan national who worked as a recovery executive at Banco Santander since 2019, giving the gang direct access to the banking system.

⚠️ JUST IN: What happened to Zcash?

Security researcher Taylor Hornby pointed Claude Opus 4.8 at Zcash's Orchard shielded pool code on May 29 and found a critical counterfeiting vulnerability within 24 hours of the model's release. The bug had survived years of review by world-class cryptographers. An emergency soft fork and the NU6.2 hard fork patched it by June 3.

The worst part: nobody knows if someone already exploited it. Because Orchard is a privacy pool, there is no cryptographic way to verify whether counterfeit ZEC was minted between May 2022 and today.

EXPLANATION (for interested people):
Zcash's Orchard pool uses zero-knowledge proofs to hide transaction details. A constraint in the circuit code was written too loosely, allowing an attacker to pass mathematically invalid inputs through an elliptic-curve check that should have rejected them. In practice this meant unlimited ZEC could be minted from nothing, completely indistinguishable from real coins. Hornby built a working exploit on testnet in a single day. The same privacy that makes Orchard valuable is also what makes past exploitation impossible to rule out.

⚠️ JUST IN: DOJ's "Disruption Week" hits Southeast Asia scam

Coinbase froze $3M in crypto as part of a coordinated DOJ operation targeting pig butchering and romance scam rings across Southeast Asia. Meta, Microsoft and Starlink joined in, taking down 1.4M+ fraudulent accounts and cutting internet access to thousands of scam compound kits. Thai police arrested 63 people on the ground.

Total crypto frozen across all participants reached $3.8M. Americans lost over $7.2B to crypto investment fraud in 2025 alone, up 24% from the year before.

😂 FUN FACT: Traded 4 cats for a Pepe, then…

A Telegram gifts trader swapped 1 Plush Pepe for 4 Obelisk cats two days ago. Same day, Obelisk doubled in value and those 4 cats hit $17K+, while his Pepe sat at $9K.

He then traded the Pepe back. For 2 cats this time.

Started with 4 cats, ended with 2 cats, because of the most expensive Telegram gift in existence. 👇

⚠️ JUST IN: White-hat hacker unlocks $2M in ETH trapped since 2016

Security researcher Florent found a way to revive a broken refund mechanism in a 2016 ICO contract that had locked 1,003 ETH for nearly a decade. By exploiting an admin function that reset balances to 1, he satisfied the contract’s refund conditions and unlocked the funds.

Original investors can now finally recover their money.

⚠️ JUST IN: Man sues to claim 3.79M BTC worth $286B using a 1958 finders law

“Noah Doe” filed a 901-page lawsuit in New York claiming ownership of 39,069 dormant Bitcoin wallets, including Satoshi-era addresses and the Mt. Gox hacker’s 80,000 BTC. He built an algorithm to find them, reported them to the NYPD as lost property, spent a year trying to find the owners, then sued. Even if he wins, courts can’t move Bitcoin without the private keys.

Finders keepers, or the most delusional lawsuit in crypto history? 👇

⚠️ JUST IN: France is the most dangerous country on Earth to own Bitcoin

A new documentary by @JoeNakamoto exposes how France became the global epicenter of crypto kidnappings. 47 cases in just 4 months of 2026, one every 2.5 days. 135 total cases since 2023, up from 18 in 2024 to 67 in 2025. 88 people indicted, 75 in pre-trial detention. The trigger: massive tax database leaks exposing crypto holders' identities to criminal networks.

Notable cases include the mutilation of Ledger co-founder David Balland and multiple home invasions demanding ransoms of up to €8M.
