🇪🇺 The European Commission provides an additional €130 million to combat drones

The European Commission is providing EU countries with an additional €130 million to expand drone and counter-drone capabilities under the Border Management and Visa Policy Instrument. The money is to be used for detecting and tracking drones, protecting the external borders, and countering the unauthorized or hostile use of drones.

This is already the third major package: the EU previously provided €250 million and subsequently an additional €169 million for surveillance drones and corresponding equipment for Frontex and the member states. This brings the total funding for surveillance and counter-drone technologies through the EU’s internal funds to more than €500 million.
